The Petersen Events Center is an indoor arena located on the campus of the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It opened in 2002 and is primarily used for basketball games, as well as concerts and other events. The arena has a seating capacity of over 12,000 and features state-of-the-art facilities, including a high-definition scoreboard and video system. The center is named after John Petersen, a Pittsburgh businessman who donated $10 million towards its construction. The arena has been the site of numerous notable events, including NCAA basketball tournament games and performances by major artists such as Elton John and Bruce Springsteen.
