Rocky Steps - Information
The Rocky Steps in Philadelphia are a must-see attraction for tourists. These steps, located in front of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, gained popularity after they were featured in the movie Rocky in 1976. The scene where the character Rocky Balboa runs up the steps has become iconic and has been recreated by tourists from all over the world.
In addition to the movie Rocky, the steps have been featured in other films such as National Treasure: Book of Secrets and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. The steps have also been used as a venue for concerts and other events. The steps have even been officially renamed to the Rocky Steps in honor of their pop culture status.
The steps consist of 72 stone steps which lead up to the museum's entrance. The view from the top of the steps of the Philadelphia skyline is breathtaking. In addition to a perfect photo-op, visitors can also enjoy the museum's extensive art collection. The museum has over 240,000 objects, including one of the largest collections of American art.
The Ben Franklin Parkway, a grand boulevard lined with museums and cultural landmarks such as the Barnes Foundation and the Rodin Museum, is just a stone's throw away. The Franklin Institute, a science museum with over 400 exhibits, is also located nearby.
