Dalyan is a small town located in the Muğla Province of southwestern Turkey. It is situated near the Dalyan River and overlooks the ancient city of Kaunos. The town has become a popular destination among tourists due to its stunning natural environment, rich history and cultural heritage. Dalyan is best known for its impressive rock tombs carved into the cliffs of the ancient city of Kaunos. These tombs, dating back to the 4th century BC, are considered to be one of the most fascinating historical sites in the area. Visitors can take a boat tour to see these tombs from the river or hike to the top of the cliff for a closer look. Aside from the historical attractions, Dalyan boasts a beautiful natural environment. The town is surrounded by stunning beaches, including the famous Iztuzu Beach, which is a breeding ground for loggerhead sea turtles.
