Martinsville Speedway is a NASCAR short track located in Martinsville, Virginia. It is the only track on the NASCAR Cup Series circuit that has been in use since the series' inception in 1949. The track is known for its tight turns and close racing, which often leads to exciting finishes. Martinsville Speedway has a seating capacity of over 50,000 and hosts two Cup Series races each year, as well as several other NASCAR races. The track has a rich history, including being the site of Richard Petty's record-setting 200th win in 1984, and being the only track to host a Cup Series race every year since the series' inception.
