Bojangles Coliseum is a landmark located at 2700 E Independence Blvd, in Charlotte, North Carolina. It was built in 1955 as Charlotte's primary sports and entertainment venue. The Bojangles Coliseum is a highly celebrated icon of the city and has hosted many significant events over the years.
Originally, the Bojangles Coliseum was named the Charlotte Coliseum and opened its doors for the very first time in 1955 as one of the largest buildings in the Southeast at the time. Today, it is equipped with modern-day amenities and is a center stage for sporting events, concerts, trade shows, graduations, and other major events.
Since the opening of Bojangles Coliseum, it has gained a reputation for hosting some of Charlotte's most notable events, including Elvis Presley's first performance in the city in 1956 and seeing legends like Jim Croce and ZZ Top grace its stage in the 70s. Other notable acts to perform at the Coliseum include Led Zeppelin, KISS, Elton John, and many more.
