Hynes Convention Center

The Hynes Convention Center, located in the heart of Boston's Back Bay area, is a premier venue for conventions. The center, designed by Kallmann, McKinnell & Wood, opened in 1988 and was named after John B. Hynes, the former mayor of Boston who passed away in 1970. The Hynes Convention Center has state-of-the-art facilities, featuring 193,000 square feet of exhibit space, 38 meeting rooms, a 24,000-square-foot grand ballroom, a 1,200-seat auditorium, and an underground parking garage with over 1,000 spaces. Since its opening, the center has hosted a diverse range of events, from trade shows and conferences to cultural exhibitions and concerts. Located near major tourist attractions, visitors can take a walk through the Boston Public Garden or explore the historical landmarks on the Freedom Trail. The Prudential Center, one of Boston's premier shopping destinations, is also located nearby. The Hynes Convention Center is situated on the site of the former Boston Arena, where the Boston Bruins played their first game in 1924. Additionally, the convention center is located near the site of the Boston Tea Party, which sparked the American Revolution. Visitors can learn more about this historic event by touring the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum.
